MAKE YOUR OWN HEALTHY POPSICLE AT HOME

The best part of summer is cooling off with healthy and delicious cold desserts or snacks. And popsicles are a summer staple and the easiest dessert to make. No fancy equipment and ingredients needed. Just simple, healthy, and the-always-available ingredients at home. Popsicles are the kind of snacks that you can eat at any time of the day. It can be healthy depending on what you choose to freeze. That means

mixing simple ingredients and the main flavor can be your favorite fruit. If you are a mom and your child is a picky eater, the popsicle is a smart idea. This is your chance to put fruits you had a hard time feeding them. Children love these colorful, tasty, and yet healthy treats. Homemade popsicles don't have fake coloring or flavors to it. You can make it as natural as possible.

 

Having popsicles in our fridge can be an advantage too. It can save us money! Instead of buying expensive ice cream outside, you can snack on some cold fruity popsicle. It is eco-friendly as well. You can buy long-lasting popsicle molds and reuse it. You get to use up leftovers too! Yogurt, fruits, vegetables, and milk that might go bad soon can be used as your ingredients. You can even make your favorite smoothie and in case you can't finish it, you can freeze what's left. Nothing is more refreshing than eating an ice-cold popsicle. And making one is very easy. You can freeze them in popsicle molds. NO MOLD? NO PROBLEM! You can be creative with this part. You can use small paper cups and popsicle sticks. You will only need the following:

 

1.) FRUIT OF YOUR CHOICE

(Examples of fruits that are best if frozen are bananas, watermelon, pineapples, melon, kiwi, and strawberries.)

If you want a chocolate flavor, you can use cacao nibs or cocoa powder.

 

2.) WATER (Optional)

Depending on the consistency you want. If you want it more natural, adding water will lessen the sweetness of the fruit so you can skip this step.

 

3.) SWEETENER (optional)

If you want to go natural, you may add honey or no added sweeteners at all. You can also put sugar of your choice.

 

4.) MILK (Optional)

If you want a dairy-free and gluten-free popsicles skip this part or add Almond milk instead. But if you want creaminess to your treat, you can add milk of your choice.

 

 

DIRECTIONS

 

Step 1

Slice your chosen fruit and blend it until smooth then taste. Add sweetener if you want.

 

STEP 2

Prepare your popsicle mold and fill each mold gently.

 

STEP 3

Freeze your popsicles at least 6 hours. Then remove from fridge and ENJOY!
