HOW TO AVOID AWFUL SMELL IN THE KITCHEN
When we smell something stinky inside the house especially in our kitchen, we can't help but find where it is from or what causes it until the problem is resolved. There are a lot of culprits most strange kitchen smells come from. And to figure it out, you need to check areas of the kitchen like your sink and tables for rotting food, your garbage cans, or worst is gas leaks. We should not take our kitchen for granted. You might have tried cleaning your kitchen the best you can, but the awful smell is still there? Try these tips and tricks to make your kitchen fresh in no time.
1.) Make sure to clean every area you used in your kitchen as you cook.
To keep your cutting or chopping area clean and free of peels, try to prepare garbage bowls beside you. Not only it will save trips to the trash cans but also, you can avoid peels that can drop to your floor or tiles and will find it a few days later when it's rotting or got stuck to the floor. Use the right equipment for the job. It will make cleaning the kitchen easier if you use basic items or tolls that you just need at the moment.
2.) Clean Spills Right Away
Always remember that a fresh spill is easier to clean especially when you are baking. Don't wait for it to harden and create a stinky smell. Wipe it right away, you'll thank yourself later. Clean all counters, cabinets, and floors of residue. Wash every tool you used as soon as you are done. It will make your preparation easier and can avoid cross-contamination.
3.) Never leave the dishes in the sink dirty for too long.
Our kitchen sink is the dirtiest part of our kitchen since it is where we do almost all the jobs especially the cleaning and preparation part. Never leave your dirty dishes for too long. Make sure to have time washing. Leaving the sink full of used dishes, utensils, and leftover food can make us sick. Bacteria love to live in wet and dirty areas. When the sink is empty, a good hot flush is what it needs. Pour boiling water to the drain to flush out any leftover food that may be stuck to rot in the drain.
4.) Don't forget your kitchen appliances.
Many people neglect to clean appliances that can be the source of odor-causing bacteria or future problems. Unclean kitchen appliances are prone to germs, molds, and fungi that might bring diseases to the family. Also, remember to clean the filter in your dishwasher and refrigerator now and then. Defrost your freezer regularly and wipe off spills in your oven or on your stove after using. Remember that this is part of increasing the lifespan of your appliances as well.
5.) Liven up your kitchen with your favorite scents.
There are a lot of ways to keep your kitchen smelling fresh. There are tons of kitchen products out there that will help like powerful sprays that will eliminate nasty smell and will get rid of germs. If you want to keep it natural, you can make your kitchen deodorizer with spices available in your cabinet. For example, boil handful of lemon peels, cinnamon sticks, and nutmegs for an hour then drain. Let it cool down and transfer to a spray bottle and spray it anywhere in the kitchen. Keep an open box of baking soda in your cabinets and fridge to neutralize the bad odor. Simmer citrus like lemons and oranges in the water on the stove to keep it fresh. You can also try hanging up some dried herbs. Or if you are a little extra, you can run an essential oil diffuser near a walkway.
