PROPER WAY TO CLEAN YOUR KITCHEN SINK

Do you know that there are more E.coli in a kitchen sink than your toilet? Our kitchen sinks are among the most used in our homes. We sometimes struggle with what that awful smell is in our kitchen. Little did we know, that smell might just be coming from your kitchen sink. We wash the dishes regularly, sweep the floor and wipe down the counters but usually forget the kitchen sink. We left it unclean for too long that is why it is the dirtiest.  Bacteria loves to live and grow fast in a wet and moist place. It feeds on the food that's left in the sink or on your dishes. They grow like crazy! And just looking for an opportunity to make your family sick. That is why we really need to pay attention to our kitchen.  Keeping it clean is an important part of a healthy home. There are different ways to properly clean a sink. It depends on the person cleaning it and product that are used. Here are some tips for you to clean your sink.

1.) We first need to empty the sink. Wash all the dirty dishes, clean all the items around, and remove all the leftover food from your sink. You also need to move the drain stopper to get a more thorough clean.

2.) Then scrub gently! How often you should scrub a sink depends on how much you use it. You need a sponge, dishwashing liquid and a bowl of warm water. Our sink soap dispenser is very helpful. It is designed for long-lasting performance to dispense consistently with each and every press. It comes in a large capacity bottle so you won't have to refill it too often. No more crawling under the sink! I encourage you not to use scouring powders to avoid scratches. I suggest you do the scrubbing step described above every time you use the sink, it may be preparing meals or washing the dishes.

3.)  You may use natural disinfectants like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice. It can clean some bacteria, but they can’t really clean bad pathogens. You can use any disinfectant of your choice. Squeeze a generous amount around the sink and rinse.

4.)  Cleaning the drain is very important. It makes the area a prime location for mold and bacteria buildup since food particles and other yucky stuff are flushed there. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Pour this directly into the drain, and follow it with 1/2 cup of white vinegar wait for about 5 minutes. This will sanitize your drain and eliminate bad odor and soften any gooey materials that may threaten to clog the drain. Then pour boiling water down. Flushing drains once a week with boiling water should be sufficient to keep most mold and germ growth under control.

5.) Dry the sink using a towel. Then polish the sink using flour. Sprinkle flour around the sink.  Using a new towel, slowly buff around the stainless steel in circular motions. You may also use olive oil to polish your sink to make it shiny.

It is best to have an installed good quality sink soap dispenser. It makes washing easier. It gives you the right amount of soap every pump. Here is an example of a good sink soap dispenser.
