REASONS TO DITCH SODA

Soda is known to be one of the responsible for obesity and other diseases in America. In fact, leaders are implementing a soda tax to help discourage and stop people from buying it. This sweet treat is a mixture of carbonated water, artificial flavors coloring, phosphoric acid, high fructose corn syrup, and caffeine. I'm here to remind you that drinking soda is just a bad habit which you can break anytime you want. Let me tell you the reasons why you need to stop consuming this liquid candy.

 

1.) It leads to Diabetes

We should always be aware of our sugar intake. Sugar in most soda is from high fructose corn syrup which is harder to digest than our regular sugar. A regular bottle of soda contains over 40 grams of sugar or an equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar.

 

2.) Causes dehydration

 

Soda has caffeine content which is diuretic and it is high in sodium that leads to dehydration. It has become a habit for many people to drink ice cold soda to quench their thirst. But let me tell you, nothing beats water. Replace it before it's too late.

 

3.) Destroys your teeth and bones

It causes poor calcium absorption that weakens teeth and bones. It contains acid that can destroy our teeth and causes decay. It has Phosphoric acid that makes it more difficult for your body to absorb calcium, which can cause osteoporosis.

 

4.) Raises bad cholesterol levels and blood pressure

Soda elevates your triglycerides or one of the three types of lipids that comprise your cholesterol levels that might also lead to heart disease. And don't forget that includes diet sodas too!

 

5.) Causes Liver Disease

When you drink soda, the fat builds up around the organs and doubles the amount of fat around the liver. And these fats are called ectopic fat, which is thought to be more dangerous to metabolic health than subcutaneous fat. And ectopic fats ruin the organs and makes it stop functioning. Just imagine your liver surrounded by these fats!

Always put in mind that WATER is always good for your health. And remember,  it can do the same thing. It quenches your thirst! So choose health!
